Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the opinions on state-owned enterprises expressed in the letters sent in the first half of the seventies to the Office of Letters and Inspection of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party and Polish Radio and Television. The vast majority of this correspondence was written for personal reasons. The authors, most often unable to accept the harms and relationships at the place of their employment, provided a lot of detailed critical information that allows to indicate the most important problems in the functioning of these plants, in terms of production, working conditions and social relations.
