Summary/Abstract: International organizations and European Union institutions have always been stronglyengaged in the international fight against corruption, promoting lawfulness, the stabilityof democratic institutions, human rights protection and social and economic progress.Public integrity, transparency and accountability have been identified as part of thefounding principles of good governance and public sector which should be enacted inlegislation and applied consistently in practice. The paper restricts itself to review of theinstitutional and legislative framework to strengthen the effectiveness of the anticorruptionpolicy and public integrity system in Serbia. The field of conflict of interest canbe a powerful tool in establishing and maintaining citizens' trust in public institutions.The aim of the paper is the analysis of anti-corruption legal and institutional frameworkin Serbia and rules governing the conflict of interest of public officials.Keywords: anti-corruption policy, special organizational unit, integrity, public sector, goodgovernance, accountability.
