Summary/Abstract: The article presents legal questions related to the work of subsidiary bodies of Polish regional assemblies, i.e. their chancelleries or offices. It seems that practices of Polish regional authorities in this regard are not always in line with the Regional Government Act. Moreover, unclear regulations concerning the supervision of chancelleries may cause an imbalance between legislative and executive bodies of regional government. The legal and institutional analysis is based on legal acts, jurisdiction, literature on the subject and, most importantly, local and internal administration acts: statutes of regions and organizational regulations of regional administrations (offices of the marshal). In conclusion, the author presents some legislative recommendations.
