Summary/Abstract: In 2018, one hundred years passed since the founding of the first geographical department at theUniversity of Warsaw. The article is devoted to the discussion of the circumstances surrounding this event,teaching geography at the university level in Warsaw in the interwar period and conspiratorial studies duringthe German occupation, as well as reactivating geographical studies after the Second World War.
