Summary/Abstract: In the context of the globalization phenomenon, internationalization and mobility of learning are key elements promoted by the Bologna process, the European voluntary initiative aiming at ensuring comparability and recognition of qualifications across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), as well as convergence and quality assurance of higher education systems in Europe. Transnational joint degrees are one of the main tools for achieving these goals, of strategic importance, and one of the fundamentals of EHEA. Ministers of Education from the EHEA countries met in Yerevan in 2015 and adopted the European Approach, a document of critical significance to removing obstacles related to the accreditation of joint degrees in a single procedure, based on the agreed Bologna tools and standards.
