The European Union’s budget for 2014–2020. Strategy and challenges

Summary/Abstract: The paper states that the European Union in the framework of the 2014-2020 budget should take into account the current situation of Community finances. EU measures require protection against deficits, which negatively affects the implementation of EU goals. It is important to state that the negotiated MFF should take into account the consequences of the decisions taken. Inadequate EU financial means can put the implementation of programmes and other assumptions at risk. Failure to implement the budget for the coming years can undermine the process of creating a multi-annual financial framework for the Union.
