Summary/Abstract: The article presents the issues concerning the use of models for panel data to determine the impact of the human propensity for business processes. The differences between the proposed concept of inclinations and marginal propensities were characterized. In the methodological part are presented models for panel data with fixed and random effects. The study attempted to determine the effect of propensity to consume tobacco products and alcoholic beverages on the average expenditure on these products by voivodships. The author estimated model with both fixed and random effects. The paper presents the process of selecting the explanatory variables. The estimated models were compared by the level of fit of the theoretical to empirical values, and because of the values of selected information criteria (AIC, BIC, HQC). In order to diagnose the properties of estimated models were also conducted: Doornik-Hansen, White, F, Breusch-Pagan and Hausman Tests.
