Summary/Abstract: The family is the basic social group in which develops the personality of a young person. Family relationships and parental attitudes are very important in the life of adolescents. On their basis, they shape their system of values and morals. Relations are described using the quality of communication in the family, the level of autonomy-control, cohesion and identity. Parental attitudes relate to acceptance, inconsistency, autonomy, over-protection and requirements. The research covered a group of high school students aged 16, 97 girls and 61 boys. The research took place on the school grounds and covered the reach of the Lublin province. The Family Relationship Questionnaire was used in the versions of My Family, My Father and My Mother and the Parental Attitude Scale in the versions of My Mother and My Father. The main goal of the research was to try to answer the question of how the perception of parental relations and attitudes in adolescents differs due to their gender. It turns out that the boys rated the relationship with the mother and father better than the girls. In terms of attitudes, the boys at the lower level assessed the inconsistency of the mother, while at a higher level they assessed the acceptance of the father than the surveyed girls.
