Methods of parenting gifted children

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the study of the methods of parenting used in everyday life in the families of talented children, whom had been identified with high abilities manifested in one or more of the following areas: academic, artistic or athletic. The direction of undertaken research is determined by the narrations of mothers and fathers followed by the individual in-depth interviews. The analysis of the experience of studied families allows the selection of four parenting methods: persuasive method, example method, task method and situational impact methods. The article presents: different ways of defining the parenting method, its classification as well as methodology and analysis of conducted research.
