Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of e-commerce and an integrated supply chain, as well as the genesis and determinants of e-commerce. The analysis of the frequency of online food purchases was made, and also an analysis of users and entities providing such services. Moreover, the development prospects for this industry were defined and an analysis of the growth dynamics for Poland compared to the European Union countries was carried out. Lastly, the arguments for an upward trend in the purchase of food items on the web were considered.
