Summary/Abstract: The subject matter of the paper, as well as the lecture delivered in Krosno on 30 May 2019, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Krosno State College, were the changes in the Polish language that took place during the period of one hundred years, from 1918 to 2018. The author pointed to the cultural and linguistic richness of interwar Poland, the phenomenon of transition from dialect to literary language, masculinisation of female names, creation of professional terms, as well as the contemporary domination of English and expressions related to the electronic reality and contemporary media.
