Summary/Abstract: This article brings to the attention of the reader the rules that regulate the the possibility of detainees to reduce the period of detention by writing and publishing scientific papers or patents. The two rights of intellectual property are regulated by national rules. The way they have been used lately by the detainees who are politicians, public persons or businessmen accused of economic crimes, tax evasion or grand corruption only minimizes the impact of this opportunity given by the law maker.
