Summary/Abstract: Game theory is a complex strategic situation determination model that seems quite simple when considered as a concept but on the contary. The theory was developed by the famous mathematician John Von Neumann in the 1940s and can be applied to many different disciplines from economics, international politics, psyhology and philosophy. Game theory, a branch of Rational Choice Theory; it is a mathematical mnethod used analyze systems consistings of units with decision-making power for a specific objective. It is argued that game theory is best used as an analytical tool in social sciences. For this, the equilibrium concepts of Von Neumann-Morgenstern and Nash are used. Each games based on a certain element of conflict. Therefore, the art product that human beings put forward as a way of expressing itself contains an element of conflict. Filmmakers and directors have also transformed these logical and mathematical theories into poweful narratives. The narrative is conflict-centered. It is seen that pirate quintet, prisoner dilemma or various coordination games are applied to decision making processes in characters in various films. The scenario proceeds according to their decision-making situation. Game theory can be useful to the extent that the characters appropriately model their motives and motives in decision-making. This study aims to reveal the centers of conflict in the script and perform character analysis through the analysis of the plays established in the film The Dark Night directed by Christopher Nolan. In this context, the application of game theory to a narrative analysis of a film and the lack of examples of this application reveal the importance of the study. The characters in the film and their decision-making situations pave the way for the contradictions the director wants to create in the audience. The chase between Batman and Joker character protects its interests by choosing the most appropriate behaviors to the mind, not the most appropriate rules of morality, the most important rule of game theory. The director demonstrates through the character of Joker that even in the instances of justice such as Harvey Dent, the individual may also become weird if the motivating reasons change.
