Summary/Abstract: The ecosystem is a unity that changes, transforms and moves through the relationship that all living species have with each other. However, with the Socratic period in Ancient Greece, all the focus of attention shifted to human beings. The entire universe, except the human being, has been evaluated by the human and to the benefit of human. This anthropocentric attitude has also transformed the relationship between man and animal. This anthropocentric attitude is reflected in the cultural productions. For thousands of years, animals have been employed in the entertainment industry under poor conditions. There are similar examples in the history of cinema as a contemporary form of entertainment and art. In this context, how can it be possible to defense the rights of animal players who have no choice but to submit to human beings whom technical equipment and powerness? This article will discuss the ways of ensuring that the animal actors are not abused with sample films from contemporary Turkish cinema. The basis of this discussion is eco-criticism and biocentrism. In this context, the first part of the article will touch upon the two traditions of animal and human definitions in philosophy, and then the existing laws, the scope, limitations and suggestions of these laws will be discussed. The director's responsibilities will be withdrawn from the ethical scope within the framework of legal obligations.
