Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the anger experienced by the drivers in the traffic environment, their anger expression styles, and some demographic variables (gender, age, education, number of accidents, number of penalties, km per year) and the interpersonal relationship styles they exhibit in social life. For this purpose, Driver Anger Expression Inventory (DAX), Driver Anger Scale (DAS), and Interpersonal Relationship Styles Scale (IRSS) were used. Six hundred seventy-eight (female, 47.1%, male, 52.9%) individuals who had been using a vehicle for at least one year constitute the sample group and the range of age was 19-65 years, the mean age was 32.22 (sd = 10.23). As a result of analyzes, gender, number of accidents, km. per year, slow driving, illegal driving, and nutritional interpersonal relationship style were found as the predictors of adaptive / constructive expression of anger. The negative expression of anger (verbal, personal physical aggressive expression, and using of the vehicle to express anger) is predicted by gender, age, number of accidents, number of traffic fines received in the last five years, slow driving, presence of police, and inhibitory interpersonal style. When the individuals with and without traffic fines were compared, it was found that the total scores of the Driver Anger Scale, negative anger expressions dimension and inhibitory interpersonal style subscale scores were significantly higher. In conclusion, in this study, important clues can be obtained which can be used in trainings to change personal development and driver behaviour positively.
