Summary/Abstract: Energy security is currently one of the most important and disputed issues of mutual relations between the European Union and the Russian Federation. First of all, energy was a key factor in strengthening the formal and informal relations between EU and Russia. Ensuring energy security is a concern of European officials who consider that within the EU there are different levels of its approach that can be countered through joint actions of the states.
