Summary/Abstract: Energy security is currently one of the most important and disputed issues of mutual relations between the European Union and the Russian Federation. On the one hand, energy was a key factor in strengthening relations between formal and informal EU and Russia. Ensuring energy security is a concern of European officials who consider that within the EU there are different levels of its approach but can be countered through joint action of states.
