SOME CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF MINORS IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION

Summary/Abstract: The sexual exploitation of children, infantile pornography and prostitution are all phenomena that alarmingly accrue, being considered as a „degrading treatment” alltogether and therefore, a violation of the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights and the American Convention on Human Rights. As outlined in the International Labour Organisation Convention nr.182/1999 on forbidding the worst forms of child labour and taking immediate action for eliminating them, commercial and sexual exploitation of children is one of the worst forms of labour exploitation for children.
