THE IMPACT OF MENTAL DEFICIENCY ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: Mental deficiency is a rather broad study field. It can be encountered in fields like psychology, pedagogy, special psycho-pedagogy, medicine, sociology, etc. All of these and not only, deal with getting to know the human, and, in this case, with getting to know the mental condition. People who have this kind of problem are considered abnormal, or, they are considered people who are not able to perform certain things that have formative features, educational or re-educational, or correctional features. This article wishes to develop a theoretical approach to what mental deficiency does to a person and the impact that it can have on the person’s psychical development.
