Summary/Abstract: In this essay we base our study on the theme of labyrinth in the work of Mihai Eminescu in order to foreground the symbolic constellation associated with his work. In the first section, we analyse the labyrinth as an archetypal space connected to initiation. In the second section, we underscore the principal characteristics of the exterior labyrinth and the interior labyrinth in several poems of Eminescu. In the third section, we examine the labyrinth of the snow in Odin şipoetul, while in the fourth section, we study the Gothic labyrinth in several pieces of prose by him. In the fifth section, we end with reflections on the poetic labyrinth and on the originality of Eminescu’s elaborations of the labyrinth: the ontological transmutation into the labyrinth is associated with eros (the erotic labyrinth), with the cosmos (the vegetable labyrinth), and with the logos (the textual labyrinth).
