The Importance of Hypotheses in Social Research

Summary/Abstract: Formalization of verifying procedure is the most effective method of hypotheses’ assessment. Paper describes stylized facts concerning usage of statistical hypotheses verification theory to test hypotheses in human sciences. Special attention is paid to difference between real population and population of results of an event and how is random sample understood in hypothesis testing. Testing of the statistical hypothesis is a decision procedure. Paper describes methods of taking decisions in significance tests and its consequences in research practice.
