Teacher's knowledge: elements of the problem based on the French example

Summary/Abstract: The author is asking questions for the knowledge and the essential abilities for the teacher in the process of education. This problem is being considered in the context of the reform lasting in France of the system of the teacher education and in the context of the public debate above PISA results. In author’s opinion the question about the knowledge and abilities of the teacher is a question about diverse benefi ts: scientific, social, economic and political. The author is analysing the nature of the professionalism of the teacher, is asking questions about essence of his operations and underlying the role of peculiar competence of the teacher
