Summary/Abstract: Stroke (Cerebrovascular accident) is the leading cause of physical and mental disabilities in adults with cognitive deficits, negatively affecting one’s life quality. The routine neurological clinical examination does not detect all the cognitive deficits in these people, making the psychological evaluation of cognitive performance with tests necessary. This paper aims the psychological approach after stroke, in order to outline a specific clinical picture and to identify and describe its psychosocial consequences.
