Summary/Abstract: The tablature CH-Bu IX 70 was compiled over a number of years, from 1591, by Emanuel Wurstisen, a Basel University student and later collaborator of surgeon Wilhelm Fabricius Hildanus. There are many Polish elements in the manuscript, including compositions by Wojciech Długoraj, Kasper Sielicki and Diomedes Cato. The tablature also contains the only known compositions by Fridericus de Drusina, signed with the initials F.D.D. (F.D.D.D.). The manuscript testifies to Wurstisen’s close contacts with Poles. His acquaintances may have included the poet Daniel Naborowski.
