Summary/Abstract: The 2015 Pope Francis’s process reform and 2016 post-synodal apostolic exhortation Amo-ris laetitia oblige various entities to deepen their knowledge concerning the canon law. This, specifically, applies to diocesan bishops and priests, all the more that Pope Francis very precisely has held individual diocesan bishops personally responsible for its realiza-tion. Hence, also in Poland, the issue of the canon law study and studies in the present Church becomes an important and urgent task, as well as an answer to the Pope Francis’s pontificate orientation and, unarguably, also to the modern word requirements, in which institutions such as marriage and family must find their adequate places, also due to a spe-cific teaching and practical actions undertaken by the Church. The aim of the current reform of the canon law studies is not only to help in increasing their level of teaching, but it should also contribute to the understanding of the process reform and other current reforms of the Church, especially, in the process of applying new legal norms in a correct manner, in order to minimize individual interpretation errors. Increase of legal culture within the Church must be perceived together with a concern of increasing ecclesial discipline and obedience. The Church broad and multidimensional reform initiated and successfully continued by Pope Francis requires further concrete decisions and that it is genuinely introduced in particular individual Churches. Undoubtedly, it is connected with providing an ade-quate number of specialists, which requires specific engagement attitudes and time to im-plement practical tasks. The invoked fragments of the Pope’s law remain an obvious image of common under-standing of an also important role of academic teacher. Without any effort, it can be seen that reforms proposed by Pope Francis are very demanding and require very specific attitudes and responses.
