Summary/Abstract: Every year Jan Masaryk Centre for International studies holds a conference on issues regarding contemporary situation in practice and theory of International Relations, which is designated mainly for young scholars. This year’s ICYS (International Conference for Young Scholars) took place in Prague, at the University of Economics, Faculty of International Relations on 28th May 2009 under the name ‘Crucial Problems of International Relations through the Eyes of Young Scholars’. It was the 13th ICYS conference and it was organized by Jan Masaryk Centre for International Studies in cooperation with the Central and East European International Studies Association, Centre of European Studies, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Czech United Nations Association. More than 60 speakers mainly from Central and Eastern Europe took part in the conference, although other parts of the World were also represented (Taiwan, Turkey, Kazachstan, South Korea) which made it a busy international conference.
