Erasmus of Rotterdam’s Reception in Transylvania: Batthyaneum library

Summary/Abstract: During this age, great attention is paid to knowing the XVIth and XVIIth century book holdings or the creative personalities of the era. Based on older research from the Batthyaneum Library from Alba Iulia, we proposed to contribute to this European trend by emphasizing the printed workof Erasmus of Rotterdam that throughout centuries reached Alba Iulia. The spread and reception of his work as well as that of some representatives of European ideological movements, school fathers, may be a research theme to be similarly followed for other authors equal as value.
