Summary/Abstract: Jurisdictions of a head of state are often taken as a measure of deciding whether a political system of one state is parliamentarian, presidential or semi-presidential. Jurisdictions of a head of state of Bosnia and Herzegovina are explicitly stated in the V article 3. paragraph of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other jurisdictions of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina are stated in other parts of the Constitution, legislative and by-law acts. To exercise their jurisdictions, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes decisions and performs other actions within the limits of their constitutional rights and responsibilities. The head of state in Bosnia and Herzegovina is collective and not singular authority. Its influence on a political system is for sure larger than the influence of a head of state in a classical parliamentary system, and this stems from the fact that at its disposal it has certain jurisdictions which are characteristic of presidential and semi-presidential systems.
