Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an argument, that most of the resources in the field of creating digital games - especially their auditive aspects - once considered as inaccessible (both financially and on the level of difficulty) are now practically free and the only obstacle in making digital games is often creativity itself. The article focuses on the phenomena of sound design through the prism of its evolution and its pervasiveness, minimization of hardware and its gradual reduction to digital plugins, DAW and middleware and finally, accessibility of sound libraries itself. Following the example of the creation of a huge (royalty) free sound effects library put together with minimal-to-none investments, this paper shows how easy it actually is to create content and how to use it efficiently.
