Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with communication, while emphasising human approach in terms of both, online and offline communication. Its main goal is to point out responsibility of each individual to use social media meaningfully. There are some partial goals directly connected with the main one, which are as follows: positive and negative effects of online and offline communication, psychological approach dealing with this topic, civic media literacy and basic rules to be followed, case of a famous kid blogger Martha Payne from Scotland and last but not least some well-known global initiatives dealing with media literacy.
