Summary/Abstract: In the article, the phenomenon of semantically double compound in German is addressed. They are the focus of Georg Schuppener‘s monograph, published in 2019. The work is the first systematic description of this phenomenon and, in theory, offers a compact compendium on the phenomenon it deals with. The theoretical considerations are supported by numerous examples.
