Summary/Abstract: Ioan Slavici writes a detailed social monograph of the end of the 19th century, a true literary geography. Even if Ioan Slavici's style was often appreciated as an arid, unattractive one, a closer look at the orality of the style can bring to the surface unsuspectedly deep stylistic values.
