Summary/Abstract: The article deals with archival processes in relation to statehood, the rules of procedure of Bulgarian state institutions and a part of their documentation functions. It quotes data concerning the location of the ministries, the position held by archival officials, as well as the use of archival information. The author voices the assumption that the archives of Eastern Roumelia were concentrated in the so-called Central Archives in the city of Plovdiv, an institution that existed until the 1890s. Problems are posed that link the knowledge about the official archives with their natural environment and enrich the notions about the formation of the documentary heritage of modern Bulgarian institutions.
