Work Motivation Peculiarities in Šiauliai City Business Companies

Summary/Abstract: This paper introduces analysis of main work motivation factors in Šiauliai City business companies as well as their importance. The research was performed on 15 January – 15 February, 2007 in Šiauliai City business companies JSC “Šiaulių tara” and JSC “Luckaus transportas”. The sample included 200 respondents. Research results let us disclose the advantages and disadvantages of the motivation systems applied in the companies, finding out the main values for the employees as well as the directions for the motivation systems to be improved. It has been found out that the employees in both JSC “Šiaulių tara” and JSC “Luckaus transportas” most of all value hygiene factors of work (large salary, stability and social safety), which add to general satisfaction with work.
