SOURCES AND MODELS OF FINANCING HEALTHCARE – SPECIFICITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF HEALTH SERVICES

Summary/Abstract: Healthcare is a highly humane activity that requires huge financial resources. It is the concern of the state, organizations and each one of us. The revenue and costs management of treatment are a challenge for every country in the world. The most developed countries are also in the process of long-standing reforms. Adequate choices of models, sources of funding and their specificity for this type of activity, can be a guarantee for the provision of quality and affordable health services. To achieve these results, it is necessary to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of all possible sources of financing and their proper distribution by sector, as well as to exercise control over spending. The purpose of this study is to analyse the nature, advantages and disadvantages of the main financing sources and to outline the specifics of the main healthcare financing models.
