Summary/Abstract: The contribution deals with the issue of the labour legislation in force in the Slovak Republic. The author defines the current status of the Slovak labour legislation and stressed its role and importance in the shaping of the functioning of the labour market in the Slovak Republic cornerstones. The post discusses the effects of foreign legislation on the Slovak legislation in two fundamental ways. First of all, the author emphasizes the positive impact of changes in the legislation work as well as on the possible impact of these changes dependent on the company. On the other hand, the author points out the negative inspiration abroad when called. the competing clauses into the legal order of the Slovak Republic. The author in the processing of individual institutes used the resources available from the legislative process, and the related case law and literature article.
