Summary/Abstract: Extralinguistic characteristics of scientific, and thus of theological way of thinking leave their impact on the syntactic level of scientific papers. This paper deals with the syntactic characteristics of theological scientific papers of a strictly scientific substyle as the core of the scientific style, and it underlines the possible differences with regard to belonging to a particular group of substyle. The analysis has been carried out on the corpus of selected works of eminent theologians in English and Serbian languages.
