Innovators creativity evaluation

Summary/Abstract: The research problem included in the article concerns the assessment of the creativity of authors of innovations introduced (so-called innovators) in selected manufacturing enterprises. The aim of the article is to review the methods for assessing creativity and to present the author’s methodology for assessing the creativity of employees and to present the results of completed research. Assessing an employee’s creativity consists of evaluating his or her creative attitude, along with a sample of his or her work. The following tools were developed by the author of this study in order to assess creativity: creative attitude questionnaire, work sample questionnaire and work sample assessment form. Companies participating in the study have been selected in terms of innovation, size and type of innovations introduced, the selection of companies was focused on obtaining variable case studies. Innovative enterprises took part in the study. The developed tools are adapted to assess the creativity of employees of enterprises. They contain statements and tasks regarding situations and problems that may arise in the enterprise. The conducted research allowed to identify slight differences between the result obtained from the evaluation of the creative attitude and the result obtained from the work sample. Innovators, who obtained lower level of creative attitude based on the assessment of work sample assess their creativity as low. In the study of the ability to think creatively, the innovators obtained higher results than assumed by their own self-esteem.
