Summary/Abstract: The occurrence of risk is a permanent attribute in any business ventures, also in the process of product innovation. However, acting in the area of risk, can be successful in technical, marketing and financial terms. Risk is the probability of incurring losses as a result of the decisions taken. When it is not possible to determine the probability then we are dealing with uncertainty. Most often it is necessary to assume the probability of the factors that may affect the implementation of activities in the innovation process and the final product results. It can be assumed that the risk level is determined by product innovation need to incur significant costs and a high percentage of the new products commercialization failure, and failure factors are associated with the level of maturity of the product innovation process.
