Summary/Abstract: There are two artefacts presented from the collections of carpets from the Department of Ethnology of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this article. The two artefacts are a carpet and a makat from the town Stolac, which are by their characteristics amongst most valuable artefacts of this collection. The makat is amongst first artefacts that were collected for the colllection of the Museum. Because of the role and importance of carpets in everyday life in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is important to describe and analyze all significant samples of Bosnian carpets in order to gain as much information as possible about this remarkable element of material cultural heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
