Summary/Abstract: This study deals with »reflexive nouns« in Polish, i.e. deverbal nouns which retain the reflexive marker się in the process of nominalization. We compare syntactic and semantic features of reflexive verbs with their noun counterparts and examine specific properties of each subgroup with usage–based data from the Polish Web corpus 2012. The study shows that certain properties of different subgroups of reflexive verbs are transferred to reflexive nouns, but also points to some specificities and differences of this category, as well as differences between Polish and other Slavic languages in the expression of reflexivity as a nominal category.
