Summary/Abstract: Francis Bernardone, well-known saint of the Catholic Church and unusual lover of the creation, as an author left behind not only the «Praise of the creatures», from which it is difficult to disregard, speaking about the early history of the Italian lyric. Is quite a collection of his writings in Latin, and in the catalogue of the terms using by him and typical stylistic figures, we can find gems, which are the material to intriguing linguistic research. As an example we can take Latin term ydiota, which in his writings appears three times in three different contexts, and the symbolic picture showing an attitude of obedience with the key phrase ponere in as well. In capturing the specificity of the first case can be helpful an analysis of used dittology, whereas in the other, an analysis of a literary treatment, called transsumptio. The summary of selected translations of analyzed phrases, which in some cases peel the interpretative direction, deviating from the original, is also interesting. All of this is serving to illustrate syntactic-semantic-pragmatic connections, confirming vitality of dependence of terms and relationships.
