Summary/Abstract: One of the effects of noise in work environment is that it masks other useful sounds that deliver important information to employees about the environment of their whereabouts. The employee's perception of useful sound signals is further significantly deteriorated by the use of hearing protectors – one of the most common means of protecting employees against excessive exposure to noise.Auditory warning signals are the acoustic signals of great importance both for employees and their safety, including those generated by moving in-house transport vehicles. Incorrect perception of such signals may result from the occurrence of noise and the use of hearing protectors and, therefore lead to life-threatening accidents. The article discusses the possibilities of warning hearing protectors- using employees against an approaching vehicle, taking into account various technical methods for detecting the risk of collision and providing the employee with information about the threat. The concept of a system developed at the Central Institute for Labor Protection - National Research Institute to warn employees using hearing protectors against an approaching vehicle, using radio techniques to detect the risk of collision, is also presented. The technical possibilities of implementing such a system are shown, indicating its advantages and disadvantages.
