Summary/Abstract: The author analyzed the reflection of the archetypalopposition of our – alien/other in the mass media texts inBulgarian contained in a number of newspapers publishedin the Republic of Moldova. On the one hand, they reflectthe symbolic meaning of the concept of “Bulgarianship”,which is fundamental for the ethnic consciousness of theBulgarians of Moldova, and on the other, they express adeeply tolerant attitude towards the other: a desire to knowthe culture of others, share information about their culture, a demonstration of the desire for cooperation and (insome cases, when it comes to help) feelings of gratitude toothers – people who do not belong to the Bulgarian ethnic group. It is emphasized that the formation of certainviews, including in the field of interethnic relations, to alarge extent depends on the actions of the media. There isa feedback between the mass media resource and its perception by readers. The article demonstrates the generaltrends reflected in a number of media resources in theBulgarian language published in the Republic of Moldova, in connection with the opposition our – alien/another,with the definition of “we”, “our space”, with an attitude toour (including to “our values”), “our space” and also to theconcept of “the other,” reflected less explicitly
