Summary/Abstract: This article presents considerations on the decentralization of public administration and localgovernment as its important manifestation. It defines the essence of decentralization of publicadministration, related concepts and the role of local government in the dualistic system of publicadministration in Poland. The purpose of these considerations was to show that local governmentis indeed a manifestation of decentralized public administration in Poland.
