Summary/Abstract: The Holy Spirit is dynamically present in the entire history of salvation, beginning from the act of creation, through Abraham, Moses, and the Prophets - up to the time of Messianic expectations. However, it is the Mystery of the Incarnation which is the everlasting culmination of His presence. But the Holy Spirit did not cease to work with the completion of the Gospel of the Holy Spirit; He is always present in the history of Christianity. The gift of Pentecost is completed in the sacrament of Confirmation. The Third Person of the Holy Trinity is the bond of unity, especially the unity of the new people of God, which is the body of Christ. Love is one of His names. The Holy Spirit rekindles new hope within us and the Holy Spirit gives ever new answers to pastoral challenges for evangelization. To grow in the awareness of the Spirit means to follow Jesus Christ through faith, hope and love, especially when one is strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation. The witness of faith is expressed in the service of the poor and the marginalized. The Holy Spirit strengthens the works of charity both in the hearts of the faithful and in the community of the Church. We need the Holy Spirit to influence even more powerfully the life of Christian churches.
