GLOBALIZATION & DEVELOPMENT OF DIRECT FOREIGN INVESTMENTS IN TURKISH WORLD COUNTRIES

Summary/Abstract: Direct foreign investments showing a great increase as the most important international economy activities of the globalization process displayed a substantial increase with the positive impact of new technological facilities in the communication and transportation aspects developing in the same process. In the beginning, the direct foreign investments at high amounts realized by the developed countries showed an increase trend as a result of the activities performed for attracting the direct foreign investments of the developing countries into their own countries particularly as from the second half of 2000s. In this process, the countries ranked in the group of transition countries started to participate into activities for further attracting the direct foreign investments and into the global competition environment. In this stage, the economic growth performances of the said countries are also different from each other depending on the policies the countries applied and natural source wealth they have. The aim of this study is to examine the development of the direct foreign investment activities of the Turkish state countries and the impacts on the economic growth. For this purpose, the direct foreign investments are analyzed with the data belonging to the years in the globalization process of the countries and it is targeted to evaluate the share which transition countries take from the activities in the globalization system.
