Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the usage of the French preposition of pour within contexts utilising adverbials denoting cause and goal, regardless of the type of its complement (noun phrase of infinitive). With regard to this, French structures are compared to Serbian ones with a view to finding similarities and differences between the two languages. Special attention is paid to syntactic structures that can be interpreted in a twofold manner (causal and final).
