EIKONS OF ALEXANDRU ANDRITOIU’S OEUVRE

Summary/Abstract: One of the benchmarks of Alexandru Andrițoiu’s poems is the insertion of certain symbols which, through their frequent reprise, take on certain meanings. The most important eikons are: gold, silver, the well, the ring, the light, marble, monuments, statues and stone. The north and south reappear constantly as reference points for two poetic attitudes: a predilection for balance and meditation, on the one hand, and hedonism and vitality, on the other.
