Summary/Abstract: The article is an outline of issues concerning self-esteem of child with developmental problems. As main point of view author took the Nathaniel Branden’s conception of six pillars of self-esteem. The publication presents what is self-esteem and analyses the related concepts: consciousness, self-evaluation,self-acceptance. There is also a discussion on social situation of children with developmental problems and the structure of their self-esteem. In the field of educational and prophylactic practice author has proposed advices to enhanceself-esteem.
